Innovate Manhattan approved by SUNY Trustees

Upon recommendation of the SUNY Charter Schools Institute and the Trustees' Education, College Readiness and Success Committee, the State University of New York Board of Trustees has voted to approve the application to establish the Innovate Manhattan Charter School.
Innovate Manhattan Charter School is scheduled to open during September 2011 in New York City Community School District 2 in Manhattan. The School will initially serve 132 students in 6th and 7th grades, growing to serve 198 students in 6th through 8th grades. Innovate Manhattan will provide a unique program for personalized education aligned to New York State standards and best practices, and based on the KED program.

The State University of New York (SUNY) is the largest charter school authorizer in New York State and the largest university-based charter school authorizer in the US.
