Our offerings

Kunskapsskolan operates and offers concepts and services in four basic business models:

We start and operate schools, owned by us and operated according to the KED program.

We offer different solutions for licensing the KED program to other schools, ranging from full operation and management services to support and licensing.

We participate in partnerships and cooperation, providing some our tools and all of our experiences from 10 years of operating schools and developing the KED program.

We provide support and consultancy services to schools and school operators.

KED Schools owned and operated by Kunskapsskolan

All our schools in Sweden are fully owned and operated by Kunskapsskolan. All schools owned and operated by Kunskapsskolan are operated in accordance with the KED program. All premises (rented, built or rebuilt according to Kunskapsskolan´s design and architectural program) function to support the effectiveness of the KED program.

Schools owned and operated by Kunskapsskolan can be procured services -operated on behalf of educational authorities and existing as a part of the public school system in the its area. In market-oriented school systems based on competition and choice, Kunskapsskolan´s schools can be operated as independent schools competing in the marketplace.

In both cases, it is the policy of Kunskapsskolan to operate in good faith and close cooperation with local and national authorities, supporting national goals and curriculum.

License operated KED Schools

A licensee has access to the KED program, systems and support from Kunskapsskolan through a license agreement. The overall content of this is described in the section “KED Inside" above.

Schools operated according to the KED program are also part of our network and have the full benefit of access to the network and its resources. Schools are owned and operated by the licensee and buildings are either owned by the licensee or a third party.

Kunskapsskolan can provide the full KED Program and all agreed support in setting up, developing and managing the school to public, charters or private schools. Kunskapsskolan can offer the entire range of services — from full scale start up, management and operation services to support in implementing and applying the KED Program, depending on what is agreed.

Partnerships and development support

In schools owned and operated in a joint venture between Kunskapsskolan and other parties, our partners can be authorities, operators of schools or others. Kunskapsskolan provides the full KED program together with our systems and resources.

The Learning Schools Trust in United Kingdom is an example of a partnership between Kunskapsskolan and a government; in this instance with the purpose of operating non-profit Academies according to the KED program.
