This afternoon, Cecilia’s team is presenting their company to their KED buddies in business studies.
They are the first group of KED buddies in business studies. Buddies from five upper secondary schools in the KED Network in Sweden and England have travelled to Gothenburg to work together on topics related to entrepreneurship and international business.
Their meeting is part of the courses the buddies take at each local school. A while ago, business studies teachers from each school had a planning session to compare the content of their different curricula in Sweden and England. Several common learning goals surfaced, such as how to develop a business plan.
“Many people think that breakfast is a boring meal. So we started to discuss whether we could break the pattern. Our idea is therefore to sell products that can make morning meals more fun and appetizing,” Cecilia says.
Their venture is called “We love breakfast”. They have designed a product that molds eggs and pancakes into different shapes, such as a heart, star or oval.
The idea is to start an online shop to sell the molds. Cecilia believes firmly in the collaboration with KED Buddies from other schools. She is confident that it is benefitting her education.
“It is fun to meet people from other places and practice English. Getting to know people from other places is also rewarding.”
The Kunskapsskolan schools are among the leading schools of Sweden. The success of its KED Program can be judged not only by students’ performance being higher than the Swedish national average, but also by the growth of KED schools across international boundaries. Currently, over 100 KED schools and KED Inspired schools are operational across Sweden, UK, the Netherlands, India, USA and the Middle East. The schools follow the curriculum of each country and grade student performance according to national standards.
